The Southwood Norsemytho
Group reviews the ultimate fantasy about the power of love, West End smash-hit
GHOST: the Musical, is making its Midlands premiere at Wolverhampton Grand
Theatre on Tuesday, June 4.
Since exploding
on to the stage in 2011 it has been enjoyed by more than 500,000 people and
nominated for five Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.
Based on the
phenomenal Oscar-winning movie, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, which
captured the hearts of a generation back in the 90s, GHOST: the Musical is a rollercoaster
ride of romance and comedy with dazzling state-of-the-art staging.
Sam (Stewart
Clarke) is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next trying to
communicate with girlfriend Molly (Rebecca Trehearn) through phoney psychic Oda
Mae Brown (Wendy Mae Brown) in a bid to save her from his murderer.
Grand Theatre
chief executive Peter Cutchie said he is "thrilled" to welcome this
production to the stage.
"As one of
the largest and most technically complex productions ever to tour the UK, GHOST:
the Musical combines the very latest in cutting-edge stage technology with a
stunning musical score and a powerful storyline that will appeal to both lovers
of the movie and musical fans alike," he said.
